My name is Trajan. I will be 9 years old at the end of May. I love primates in general, but I really love apes and have since I was 2 years old. Sometimes I am sad because I feel like I am just a kid and that I can't really help save the Mountain Gorillas. My mom and dad tell me that I can make a difference even if I'm only almost 9 and even though I am "one small person, I have one big heart."
So I have a few goals in my heart and mind that I would like to share with you and I hope that you will help me help Save the Primates because "One small action helps a big cause." 1. I would like to raise $760 which will help me adopt one Silverback and one Mother/Infant Pair of Mountain Gorillas from The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International as well as all twelve of the Western Lowland Gorillas at the Oklahoma City Zoo. Any and all money collected above and beyond that amount will be split evenly between the two organizations. 2. Educate the public about primates and Mountain Gorillas using my website, FaceBook page and by speaking to my friends and family. 3. To continue doing fundraisers and learning more about primates and endangered species so I can apply to become a volunteer Junior Curator at the Oklahoma City Zoo when I turn 14 years old. 4. My long-term goal right now is to work with The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International in the Congo so I can research the gorillas and learn more about how they are like us; how they behave when they think no one is looking; to help save them by stopping poachers; and educating the public in the Congo and Rwanda so they will know how special these primates are. Please see the Current Fundraiser page to learn more about how you can donate to my cause and help Save the Primates. Thank you, Trajan |
